NWKS Jr. Golf Scholarship
The Northwest Kansas Junior Golf Association will award Scholarships intended to support Northwest Kansas High School graduates in postsecondary efforts. This one-time scholarship is for students graduating during the 2024-25 school year. These funds will be made payable to a two-year or four-year accredited college, university or technical school in the name of the selected student. Awards are non-renewable, one-time scholarships in the amount of $250 provided for one Male and one Female who has participated in Northwest Kansas Junior Golf. Funds for these scholarships are possible through entry fees for participation in Northwest Kansas Junior Golf Tournaments.
Eligibility
Students must be seniors attending and graduating from a member school of the Kansas State High School Activities Association during the 2024-25 school year and have participated in at least one Northwest Kansas Junior Golf Association tournament. They must be considered as students in good standing as confirmed by their building principal. Students must enroll and attend a post-secondary institution of their choice as a full-time student within two years of graduation. Must be a student of full-time enrollment in a high school in one of the following counties: Cheyenne, Rawlins, Decatur, Norton, Phillips, Smith, Sherman, Thomas, Sheridan, Graham, Rooks, Osborne, Wallace, Logan, Gove, Trego, Ellis, Russell. (Exceptions will be made for students from outside the area who have shown a significant commitment to NWKS Jr. Golf.)
Selection Criteria
The student will be selected based upon an assessment of the following components:
High School Cumulative GPA
ACT Score
School and Community Activities
Participation in NWKS Jr. Golf for a minimum of 3 years / 15 tournaments
